FreeMailTemplates has over 50 free HTML email templates which you can download to edit on your own, or use within MailChimp or Campaign Monitor. Some are very simple and some are fairly complex, so there’s one for every level of email marketer, whether beginner or expert. And of course, if none of the free ones work for you, you can download one of their paid templates, which can be got very cheaply, many for around $20.
2. 99 Designs
99 Designs has created three templates – one for a newsletter, one for a promotion, and one for a regular notification email, in four different colors. These email templates can easily be loaded into your own email, or into an email marketing service. They recommend loading it into an email marketing service, simply because it makes customizing the content blocks easier.
3. Zurb Foundation
Foundation for Emails has four free email templates that are very simple, which makes them easy to customize and good for beginning email marketers. These templates are great for beginners looking to snazz up their basic emails without getting overly complicated about it.
4. Email on Acid
Email on Acid has a beautiful HTML newsletter template with a responsive design. They even walk you through how they wrote the HTML for it, so you can more easily work with the back-end yourself.
5. Antwort
Antwort offers three simple, responsive templates with varying amounts of columns. These three templates are perfect starter templates for a company that is mainly sending out notification emails, and just starting newsletters.
6. Litmus
Litmus offers twelve free HTML templates that are positively beautiful. They can easily compete with any paid options out there. These templates are particularly good for retailers, as they have templates for receipts and coupons, in addition to newsletters, product announcements, and other templates. Make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom to see the additional five templates, beyond the original seven mentioned at the top.
7. Pixel Buddha
Pixel Buddha offers a lovely HTML newsletter template with a clean, modern design. The minimalism makes it easy to customize to any type of branding.
